About
Curtis Jere Mid-Century Modern Brutalist Tole or Tromp L'oeil metal and bronze/ brass sheaf of wheat wall sculpture. A fantastic piece that creates the illusion of a bundle of wheat during harvest season. (Wheat bundle artwork is good luck in France) The sculptural wall hanging features handcrafted metal which has been formed into leaves and stems which resemble a bundle of wheat. Tall branches of silver metal resemble the stems and are tied together with carefully crafted braided metal pieces as rope. From the top and at the end of each of the branches, are silver metal and brass leaves cut from metal in a diamond/oval shape. The gold/brass and chrome are a wonderful contrast to one another. (Haven’t you heard? Mixing metals is ok!) At the back of one of the brass leaves, this piece is hand-signed by the artist Curtis Jere. (So rare!) How We Would Style It: We would love to see this mid-century beauty on a wall in a foyer. Such a great way to make an entrance grand, and announce to any visitor that your home knows great mid-century style. Alternatively, We envision this piece going in a dining room, living room, or foyer. Wherever it goes, it will be the statement piece of the room. This piece is in good vintage condition and does show slight wear which is consistent with age and use. As we say, “We’d let it eat crackers in bed.” Dimensions: 5” Deep 42” Wide 51” Tall less
